The self & self-motivation are among my personal skills that allow me to be update & refine my technical skills, if you asked me to learn a new language of any programing, I assure you I am going to I will accept and even make sleepless nights if the situation is urgent. For the technical skills I develop in cms like joomla wordpress & drupal , most of the time I realize the single-man projects, but there are projects that I was part of a team that is made by developers, analysts and graphic designers. So according to my experience I find that teamwork is better than working in single man, but even that's the case I'm enjoying it and I'm getting into a position of a project manager, and all this destiny self-improvement.
