University Internship report

The written report SHOULD BE approximately 2,000 WORDS in length and consist of:
1) a brief descriptive section
• name of organization/agency/corporation
• division within organization/agency/corporation where you participated
• name of supervisor within the organization
• dates of job/internship/community service
• clear statement of main work/tasks accomplished during internship
n.b.: The report should not contain lengthy descriptions of the origins, history, legal charter, administrative structure, etc. of the organization/agency/corporation. The report is supposed to be about the tasks, activities and accomplishments of the intern. It is not a report about the organization/agency/corporation as such.
2) an analytical section about your internship which addresses three main issues:
1. what you accomplished (give a complete description of the work you did)
2. what you learned – what new skills, points of view, etc did you acquire
3. what your courses and activities at AUI provide you with as background, problem solving, skills, etc. for your internship
Other issues you can discuss in the report:
• what skills learned at UNI were used during your internship?
• how did the internship service relate to your degree at University (major, concentration, minor)?
• what new skills did you learn during the internship service?
• what were your relations with your hierarchic superiors? with other employees?
• what kinds of problems did you encounter?
• how did you solve these problems?
• how was your work helpful to the organization/agency/corporation?
• how might the internship be relevant to your future endeavors (graduate studies, job market prospects)?
