Dr. Abdelouaheb BENANI has 30 years of experience in the fields of Molecular Diagnostics, Research & Development, training, and Expertise. He is also responsible for the Molecular Biology Laboratory within the Department of Medical Biology at the Pasteur Institute of Morocco.
- Supervision of several PhDs and around a lihundred internships and Master's projects.
- Contribution to National Public Health Programs as well as in the field of expertise and molecular diagnostics.
- Extensive experience in the molecular epidemiology of chronic viral hepatitis B and C, and expertise in authorized molecular diagnostic tests in Morocco, particularly those for COVID-19, and various molecular genotyping tools (microbiology and molecular genetics).
- Vice President -Africa in the World Society for Virology (WSV).
- Former Member of the consultative commission for in vitro diagnostic reagents (Direction of Drugs and Pharmacy (DMP) Ministry of Health).
- Member at the National Committee for the Fight Against Viral Hepatitis at the Directorate of Epidemiology and Disease Control (DELM).
- Former Consultant to WHO on the Eradication of Hepatitis B in the EMRO Region.
